    Always a guessing game for me when building an engine. BBC, Milodon sells the pan as a 7qt pan. So I put 8 quarts in and it reads two qts over full. How can the proper level be determined?

    Probably a stupid thought. Could the dip stick be the wrong one?

    on my dooley pan they told me to put 9 quarts(its a 9 quart pan) of oil in it and remark the dipstick then after running the engine refill to new marks
