Thread: Need marine alternator recommendation

    Its time to buy a new alternator and I need a 12 volt / self Exciting Regulator / 1 Wire Hook-Up with plenty of amps to add on a stereo system.
    Any suggestions on something chrome?

    Here is the one I will be upgrading to...and they can do them powedcoated as well..and possibly chrome..

    we use a co. called northwest they build almost all of the aftermarket alts that are out there. they build em custom for us, any output and any config we need,
    hey mike if your gonna go 210 amps I would suggest going out board regulator

    Evo, that sounds like it may get more complex....they say it is plug and play from the guys that are using them...how much is involved with the outboard regulator? Also, what can you get 160 or 200's for?

    Is the stock alternator on a 496HO a one wire?

    Call Ron at R&B in Parker. He's great guy with a great product I run one of his alternators and starters on my by boat and have only had a small problem with my starter a year after I bought it and he stood behind his work, also his prices are awsome.
