I never use that stock wire.
The size is OK, but that cheap shielding is easier to break or cut. I'd spend the extra $20 on some decent wire.
I just bought some new Eclipse speakers for the boat. They sure come with some cheesy wires. I don't know what gauge it is, but it is tiny. Should I use it (I assume it is adequate since it came with the speakers), or replace it with some larger wire?

Thank you very much for the offer, but I have plenty of 16ga wire, I just need to get some lugs that will fit on the tiny spades on the speaker, yet will accept that large of wire.
solder all your connection and then slide a little shink tubing over it ..... make sure and not get the speaker leads too hot as it will melt the tensil leads and or smoke the tweeter
