The information I have shows that to be a 1992 454 tall deck, four bolt main. I believe the Gen V production started in 1991.
If the heads are off, look at the coolant passages on the block deck. Round=Mark IV and irregular shaped=Gen V. I also believe the Gen V will not have a fuel pump mounting boss.
Thank's racing ray and old squirt! what do you meen buy the passages being irregular? what shap would that be?oval??how do i tell the diff. between reg. and tall deck?

Tall deck = 10.2 inches from crank centerline to the deck. Standard = 9.8 inches.
Mark IV the coolant holes are round just like you drilled them.
Gen V the upper holes are kind of cam-lobe shaped. The lower holes look like triangles with the tops cut off.
Hope that made sense!
thank's that made sence it also hed a performer 2-0 intake on it does that make a diff on which one it it or does eld. make 2-0 for all block? if i remember rite they didn't make one for a tall block???
www.mortec.com (http://www.mortec.com) its a 454 91up gen v 4 bolt
Thank's every one!
Mortec says regular deck, but another(less accurate) source says tall. The Performer2-0 looks like it is only for regular deck, so my bet is that the Mortec info is correct.
Let us know what you find out.
sure i'll let you know i'll probly buy it in the morning!
