Thread: Tahoe Sub..

I posted a thread a while ago about installing a sub in a Tahoe and I am too lazy too search for it.. But the story is I bought a Tahoe from Photoglou a couple months ago and am looking to give it a little extra muscle.. I am in the IE and am looking for someone to give me some ideas as well as a clean install.. I have installed many stereos and amps, etc.. over the years but I just don't have the time to do it right now. I don't want to get crazy with it as it is the lady's car, bought I would like some decent economic options. Thanks in advance.

There's a charge to remove it... We start at 75 per hour...

    Nice.
I think the Bose has a sub under the center console already (I think JL makes a stealth box for that area).
My old Tahoe had room in the rear cargo panel...not sure if the newer models have that area clear. Good luck integrating it...

    $75/hour? Awesome!
I was gonna pay $100...

Contains one 10W3v2-D2 subwoofer in a sealed enclosure. 300 watt power handling. Wired for 4Ω mono. Installs inside factory center console and fires down into the floor of the cabin. Console storage capacity is not affected. Rear cargo space is not affected. Permanent modification of the inner console and removal of the OEM “subwoofer” (if so equipped) is required.
Have them use a JL2501 or equivillent and use a line level attenuator to be able to adjust the amp's volume...

It does not have the factory sub.. so I guess I will have to go with hi-lo converter and an amp.. thanks for the replies..
BTW, is it worth to add an amp to the existing mids and highs as well, or is that getting into a whole new ball game..
    Thanks,
    Jeff
