Thats fantastic! I was in the service and let me tell you it helps when you feel that what you are doing is appreciated. it is even more important when you know that your family has agency's like this to help them if they need it. I will say that quite a few of the National Guard people and their family's are falling on hard times. Any help is appreciated. Everybody on this board should be able to buy at least 20 each for stocking stuffers!!!!

I don't know if this the right thread or not but I want to share a letter from my brother sent on Tuesday. Iraq is a complete pit but contrary to the daily media headlines our troops are doing a great job of stamping out the insurgency and re-building the country. I hope that within my son's lifetime our efforts over there will pay off with a symblence of stability in the middle-east. FYI, My bro is a Captain with the 1st CAV:
Scott and Missy and Mr. Cameron,
Sounds like you are having a great time this winter? It is in the 30's
here! have been really busy lately. I was out and about the last two
days. I went to a school in a very poor section of Baghdad (Sadr City)
and handed out school supplies! This neighborhood is so nasty, there is
raw sewage 2 feet deep going down one of the streets we went down. I
thought Korea smelled bad! Wow! The pucker factor was pretty high b/c
this was the area that most of the action was happening last summer but
the US has stared an Information Campaign and there has only been maybe a
handful of incidents in the last 2 months or so! Handing out supplies
to the Keiki's was the best thing I have done this year! The keiki's
were so happy to get supplies from us... they were really shy and I
understand why... we are soldiers wearing body armor and sunglasses and
weapons! So I tried to speak a little Arabic to them and they only repsonded
when their teacher told them too... than I lowered my head to th
eir level and removed my sunglasses and told them in Arabic "blue eyes"
they all laughed... hahaha... I think that I know have an Arabic name
    now!
hahahaha... I will try calling you soon... much love, Cris
p.s. I will also try to send some pictures later.
God bless all tne men and women who serve our country.

I have heard from some family members that our media only relays the negitive. Had a friend go to New Zealand and said the news there was very positive unlike ours. Glad to hear the good news.
