He should find a set of 12's and look for a better propeller. The prop he had on there was ancient. He would make a huge jump just getting an up top date prop. But the jump to 1.06, I have never heard of 6's. It should make a difference though.
Tony my boss changed the gears out in his flat went to 1.06s.had 1.15s in it at elsinore.Boat ran 86@5k what do you think.

I think he needs more motor. My flat with a 396 ran 94 on GPS last summer. However, my "family" (it seats four)pump boat ran 91 the same day.
The motor is plenty just needs the right gear.Tony if i remembered right they were 1.06s he thought of changing the prop but andy at casale said try the gears first he has a set of .25s if anyone needs them.He is going to try this week at elsinore maybe even tomorrow.
Maybe he should put a ford in it?
nitrous is a consideration. The motor is well built so it should handle it.Hes looking to get that thing to rev to 6500 up from 5000?
GM Killer came in here throwing elbows. I think he wants a race!!!!!!!!We'll send Picklefork1 at him.
Charger, Tom (Menkens) is knocking $100 off any prop within the next month, with a guarantee of picking up performance and overall satisfaction. Now might be the time to have him do as the Guru suggests and change the prop out on that rig. If you change the prop later, it may not match the gearset for optimum performance.
