For my 781's oval ports. Do I cut them for the 2.25 intakes that I have or cut the valves down to 2.19's?

sorta depends on cylinder size and what induction you have----2.250 for a 4.500 bore or blower----2.190 for 4.310 or carbs

what hp are you expecting from this motor? It sounds very similar to one I'm planning on building (in the paper stage right now...just planning).

are you sure the stem sizes are the same? some 2.19s have 3/8 stems and some 2.25s have 11/32 stems.

What ever I get with it. I'm guessing 450-500hp. Its the motor that came in the boat. Just doing a few upgrades. Next year I'll stroke it.

If you use the 2.25 valve, you can get a much better valve job on the head, since you can cut the throat to the proper size. You'll have more material to work with... that is if you take them to someone who knows what they're doing. Lay the chamber back a little behind the valve. They're definately not too big. Notching the cyl wall helps as well. Just don't notch below the top of the top ring. What size ex valve are you running?

if you dont want to cut the valves, i have a set of stock 2.19 valves new that were replaced with the manley's on a truck motor. they dont fit anything i have now so i wont use them. that way you can keep the nice manley 2.25s incase you want to go bigger down the road. i have both intake and exhaust. if your interested i can dig them out and remeasure to make sure the sizes.

Thanks for the offer. I don't have much into these and getting them cut is free. So I'll run what I got.
