Thread: timing a 87 bronco

    OK what is the procedure to time this thing
    and what degree advance should it be set at
    the book we have gives us every thing but how to time the dam thing

    pull the plug, set the timing to 10 degrees, check engine light might set so disconnect the battery for a bit to reset..
    The plug is on the left fenderwell. Its a gray hard plastic deal with 2 pins. Should be towards the back, kinda below the hood hinge and master cylinder.

    cant find any thing over by the spot you said
    could the plug be next to the distributor
    there is a black plug that looks a little like a fuse it seems if its un plugged it will disconnect one wire to the distributor

    thats it.. called a spout connecter... might try sitting timing around 12 degrees ,, usually works pretty good
