Alright, this is what I got. Sony model #DCR-HC30. I wanna say they are like $550 now. Here are some pics:

It has a touch panel display. Mini DV. 120X digital zoom. NIghtshot. Etc, etc...

OK, now here are some pics to compare. Now my digital cam is weak anyways. It's only 2 megapixels. The video cam is like 1.7 megapixels. You can obviously tell the low light pix. That's why the digital is better with the flash. BUt the video isn't too bad in the light. Check it out:

Hope this helps. The cam has 120X digital zoom. Nightshot. Memory card slot. Touch panel display. Kinda cool, you scroll through the menu by touching the screen. I think the camera below this didn't have the photo feature. That's the DCR-HC20 not 30. Only a $50 difference.

Thanks for posting that info, I was thinking of getting the sony one with the recordable dvd. Until I saw how many mega pixels it had for pictures.
It's kind of funny how your digital camera can record for a short time, but has no light options, and your camcorder can take pictures with no flash. :hammerhea I'll just wait till they come out with something that has both options.
