She's doing a project on Medieval times. Part of it is she needs to interview someone about the coffee in that era.
    This is from her:
I am a 7th grade student at Altimira Middle School and I am doing a history project on Medieval coffee. I need to interview somenone about it. Here's the questions I have written up to get answers to.
    Where were the plants grown?
How were the coffee beans grounded up?
    Was the coffee strong?
Did everyone drink coffee or was it mostly for the rich?
Was coffee used as a form of money?
Was coffee used as a medicine?
Was there any other uses for coffee other than drinking?
What is your name? (I need to show who answered the questions)
    Do you drink coffee often?
    Thank you!

You should check with GoFastRacer in the v-drive forum or on HavasuDoug.com. He probably remembers that kind of stuff first hand.
    p.s. Sorry Art.

Coffee although available in the Middle East was not a common drink in Europe until the late 1500's and then it was to expensive for common use.
So some clarification is needed. Exactly when and where are we taking about?

GoFastRacer is on all the forums at Dougs's, not just the v-drive one!!
Wish I could help. Anything I would say would be purely conjecture but I'm pretty sure it was originally grown in the moutainous areas of France and Italy. During medieval times, they weren't doing a lot of trade into other areas, so they probably didn't get any from Africa. I'm also pretty sure that it was only for the wealthy as a novelty. It probably tasted about like starschmucks coffee, like burnt dirt.
