Thread: 455 Temp.

I just purchased my first Jet Boat. It's a
1972,19ft Nordic with a 455 with water injected Bassetts. I just put the motor in
and it runs great using the garden hose. I've
    disconnected the T-valve so I don't Marinate
the engine. I'm nervous about the first time
I put it in the water though. It has a gate valve on the inlet as well as the overboard
outlet. Any help on the proper procedure for
a first-timer would be great. Also, what should the temps be at idle and cruise speeds?

How long did you run it on the trailer?

Open the outlet all the way and adjust the inlet for temp. 160-180 is good. I hope u disconnected the pump from the motor while u ran it if not it might be toast.

speed should I set the outlet valve at?
