I guess I don't hang with any one rich. Everyone has their ideas of running a motor on the dyno. But as the guy says who builds my motors (and several buddies). He owns it on the dyno and we own it in the boat.
But I will add, if Aggresser can make my boat go faster, I'll put a sticker on it for the worlds in Mexico in November. How much money for a "A" impeller. I'll cut it down as needed.

stop it RD,he's right. Who would want to put that much stress on their engine to find out if the parts would hold up, the amount of HP, if the parts you chose are working, to fine tune, to adjust the carb(s), etc.
It's much better to build something exactly like someone else did, pop it in your machine untested and take off. You have to realize that putting the enigine in a 1000lb fully rigged boat and getting it going puts absolutely no stress on the engine......

At the NJBA race late last year (Oct?) there was a group of jets that I watched on qualifying day - Risky Business and others all in one pit area. The crews never seemed to do much with the engines, so I asked one crew guy why. He said most of them set the engine up on a dyno at the beginning of the season. then they spend all their test and qualifying time getting the jet and boat dialed in. They didnt seem afraid of dynos.

ps. I think I saw more laptop computers than wrenches in those pits. Whats racing coming to?

I'm hoping to have it in two weeks. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/smile.gif
I'm not really sure who you and your buddy have been talking to, but your bass ackwards on the dyno dealio.. There's a couple of very valid reasons to dyno a motor.. The first being becuase you built something "similar" to what someone else built you can't claim the same HP.. Sh*t even if you built them deadnuts they wouldn't make the exact same HP.. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif

So whatcha gettin Dave? CP with a blower and Berk? Daytona with a Poncho and a dominator? http://free.***boat.net/ubb/biggrin.gif Just kidin, seriously, what are you looking at? I saw the inquiry about Schiada, If I had the cash, I wouldn't mind going that route. Too bad Superdave is getting his re-geled. I love the old school classic colors on his ride.

I believe He's going to maintain with the Old school theme. He just doesn't like the Orange on his boat. I'm going to try and pull off something of a V-Drive V-Bottom boat... I think a Schiada is a little out of range for right now. http://free.***boat.net/ubb/wink.gif

    Dave,
Check my post in hot boats hot spots, I saw a 21' Schiada in the boat trader for 3500 2 weeks ago. It was an I/O, but still a Schiada. I'll see if I can find the trader laying around. If I had the $$ I would have bought it in spite of the I/O.
    Talk to you later,
