There is really nothing within walking distance if you are RV camping.
If you "tent" camp, there is a campground just across the road from the pits...

The fairgrounds is within a couple of miles of the track and is pretty cool. It's cheap and there's alot of room for the kiddies to run around. I think they run a shuttle to the track both days, although I always drive my van in.
Just another option...
