Just wondering if you guys know anyone out there besides CP that is producing Rail Kits and trick motor plates with nice feet? I am looking into having some custom made. Do any of you know where I could start? Thanks in advance

    Hi Bense,
Rex has some 30" rails...seems a little short but they do have them. Also the front and rear plates and little feet in 2" size. Looks like they will discontinue the 1.5's. Don't think they have a "kit" like CP but you could buy separate.

Rail kit sounds cool but the material is just aluminum angle. I took out the pieces of swiss cheese that someone who didn't know how to measure had used before, and bought aluminum angle and made new mounts as well as a new front engine mount plate. It isn't rocket science. Just a matter of laying out hole patterns and drilling holes. I ran the aluminum angle from the transom all the way forward to the bulkhead and mounted the seats to it also. I have less than a hun in material.

    Bense,
HB picked up his rail kit from Tom Papp. You'd have to email him for the price details, but the kit was very complete including all fasteners etc.

If anyone is in the OC area you have to check out Schorr Metals. They have the best rem/scrap bin I have ever seen. It's only a 1.90 a pound.
If you need to have anything cut on a mill let me know and I'll help you out.
