I tried rebuilding the ol 460. I honed the cylinders got the crank back in with new bearings, went to put one piston in the cylinder, put the rod cap on with new bearings, tightened it down to specs, now with only one piston I can not turn the crank one bit. I got the stock bearings from summit. they are a little bigger than the old ones but.....I need to find a good shop in the Upland area to finish the bottom end..any help would be great.
Unbolt that con rod and see if your cranks spins. One distinct possibility is that you have the wrong size rod bearings...but it could be something else.

p.s. Also, DanHercules had some work done on his motor...he is closer to you (minutes apart) and maybe he can send you somewhere closer.

Kerny, one more thing: Might just offer you a shortblock that's already rebuilt with flat-tops, mild cam, ARP bolts, etc. Just use your shortblock as a core exchange to us. Then just bolt your heads to it. SoCal. PM me if interested.

Did you replace the rings?? AND did you clean the carbon out of the ring grooves?? Did the piston go in easy? If not, see above.........MP
