I have a 19ft Eliminator daytona, a farely heavy layup and am having a motor built that should make around 750 hp. Had the pump setup by Jack at MPD. With that kind of hp about what kind of mph should i be running?
    How about a picture.
Funny you mentioned MPD. I have not heard much on the boards about them lately. Seems like all the talk is about Tom Papp. Whats up with that. A year or so ago, MPD was what all the talk was about.

A LOT of HP if it's a heavy weight lake boat with stock bottom and full interior. You'll probably need the NOS.

If the boat and pump are set up right, the bottom is straight, and the motor truly makes 750hp, it should run between 100 and 105. It was probably 5-8 years ago, but ***boat did a test on a green and white 19' Daytona with a mild blower motor that reportedly made 750 hp and I believe that boat went 105mph.

I'd say about 90mph with a good lake setup, but don't worry you can always say you GPS'd it at 100mph. then its as good as true, isn't it? :rollside:

i have that ***boat mag. it was june 1997 edition. the boats name was green envy. it had a 496 chevy with a 8-71 blower runnin 5 lbs of boost and two carbs. it made 800 hp and topped out at 104.6 mph on radar with its setback pump, droop snoot, semi blocker race scoop, ride plate and shoe. the hot boat test team said it was the quickest accelerating boat they have ever tested. it went from 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds. you could run ihba's modified eliminater class (10 second 1/4) with this setup.

113mph with no gas, no passengers, no cooler, down river with a good coat of wax on the bottom and a tale wind with a blower with 20 pounds of boost and nos.
    Thanks,

Pictures were taken with old motor and pre pump work. Pump was set back, new intake loader, shoe and ride plate, all the insides gone through including inducer impeller.

I'm gonna go with 90 to 95. I hope it's faster for you but we have to be realist :rollside:

Did you tell Jack what kind of power you'd be making?
What size did he cut the impeller to?

i told him what kind of power it would be making but not really sure what he cut the impellar too. The boat ran 86 mph before and the motor had 10.25 to 1 compression with stock 990 recangular port cylinder heads that had been cleaned up. This was also before i had jack go through the pump and set it back. If i could run 95 mph i wouldnt be dissapointed.
