Thread: Got a nice package today, diverter pump ?

The brown truck brought this today. Got it all installed and it works like a charm. My question for anyone who has a hydraulic diverter is how did you mount the pump. It seems heavy to mount with the plastic mount that came with it. Im thinking about how to make a bracket for it to sit on.

Thats the exact same setup I have on my boat. Its using the plastic bracket that came with it and seems to be working fine. One thing id like to do on mine is to ditch the plastic lines and go stainless. Wonder were id get those from?

Mounted on the transom, I didnt actually mount it though it was there when I bought the boat. You can see it in this pic on the middle left.

If you want to mount it to the Transom: Get some 3/4 in thick wood, mount some blind nuts through the back, epoxy resin it to the transom and then bolt the unit to it. This is how I mounted my Banderlog valve to my transom. Works great. Please pay no attention to my cluster f uck of hoses and cables.

I have mine mouned to the bulkhead seperating the engine from a storage area (it's the Queen Mary, what can I say?). That wimpy-looking plastic bracket is actually one strong little SOB. It sucks the pump down HARD and works real good. I like the suggestion about the wood block, but I would just use hardwood for the block and run wood screws into it. It will hold fine.Keep in mind that the back of the boat gets much lower shock loads than the front where the driver is.

I still have some fiberglass mat and resin left over from when I glassed in my gas tanks. I been looking for a reason to use it up...... I even got some small pieces of 1x4 and 2x4 laying around.......
my pump is mounted to one of the studs from the pump housing coming thru the transom. pretty rigid. I personally wouldn't run a flemsy setup as much as these boats bounce around.

Im going to get a piece of alum and screw it to the 2x4 thats glassed in high on my transom and going to mount the pump to it. I just don't like that little plastic piece. Looks kinda weak for the heavy pump.

I used the wimpy little plastic thing and have no problems with it whatsoever.
