I had it done days after the FDA approved it in the US (about ten years ago). My vision is still 20/20. Before that it was 20/300 and 20/400. I couldn't read a license plate from ten feet away. I would have done again in a heartbeat.
No more prescription sunglasses at the bottom of the Sacramento River. No more glasses under my moto goggles. Best money I ever spent.
