I have an 86 Eliminator with a 300 HP Johnson on it, runs good so far, I want to set it up right for best ferformance. I had it out on Sarasota Bay yesterday, about 2' Chop, was doing ok at about 40 MPH(GPS) Im new to this kind of boat, so was learning..got on a smoother area and went 60 no problem...I was told this setup would be good for at least 80, but not sure,lol..
the Prop is a Quicksilver chopper, with this stamped on it:
    LE Quicksilver 48 13372 A5 28P
IS this the right setup?? it is on a manual jackplate.
thanks.if u need more NFO, let me know

a friend of mine has the same setup as you and runs in the 90's. he has 4 or 5 props he plays with.. so not sure what the ideal pitch would be. also his motor may have been tweaked a little.. although he claims its stock??

Set that jack plate up even with your pad and don't use much trim and with that 28 prop you should get at least 80-90 mph, I have a 275 Rude that is 340hp at the prop, running a 30 chopper on a HST, its a tunnel also.......I had mine up to 106mph last year on gps........( . )( . ).......let us know whats happening with the speeds K...
