Thread: Tailer Bunk Boards Replacment ?

Pressure treated lumber works great, and before putting the carpet on it, I usually run a router down the edges to round them off. The carpet lasts much longer on a radiused edge rather then a sharp one. Also, carraige bolts rather then lag bolts are the hot ticket. I have never had any problems with galvanized bolts, but stainless staples are a must. Do it right, and they willl last a long time.

Don't forget your particle mask when machining treated lumber.

I did mine myself also. Went to Home Depot, bought the wood, the carpet, the glue, and the Jasco wood preservative. Then when over to the rental department, picked up a staple gun and went to town. Done in one day. Bolted on the next.
Went to the river, dumped the boat and the family in the water and slammed them on. Piece O cake.

Use that green Jasco stuff. No mask. just do it outside.
It's way better than the treated lumber.
