I guess I'm running the cheaper way (no dyno shop) but after rebuilding my 454 and adding new cam kit with DuaneHTP (and manifold), he told me 20 Min, 2Kto 2500rpm (for the cam), then drive for an hour no higher than 3500RPM, then an hour no higher than 4500RPM, then an hour no higher than 5500 (which I can't reach without Nitrous anyhow). Also advised on the flat tappt cam to leave the inner valve springs out for break-in insurance. I'm leaving them out for 8 to 10 hrs and not hitting the gas till they are happy back under my valve covers. He said once I got over the hour at 3500 hump, I could nail it to air her out, occasionally, but not to just start blasting from one end of the lake to the other WOT. I am getting to enjoy putting my break-in hours into my motor.
