Steve why the new carb in the first place?
I have the stock 650 on my BBF which is also stock. I run 62 mph at 4400 rpm with logs.
I still don't buy into the idea that the more cfm you have the faster you will go.
See you at Millerton next summer
Thanks for the compliment Steve, nothing wrong with the 600 for what you want from your boat, you can always upgrade later if you wish. You'll enjoy your 18 a lot ,because it has more freeboard than the 19.It's actually a downsized version of the 20.Never understood why spectra sold that mold to Southwind?

Just curious SpectrasOnly, what happened to all of the Spectra molds? Are they are destroyed, or are they still around somewhere?
The old carb was in extremely bad shape. It was rebuilt with sillycone and it was everywhere. I could have dealt with it, but I sold it to a friend for $50 and bought my new one for $190. I figure for $140 that I am in a better situation than before, plus it is real SHINY!
Steve
Steve I'll help you justify it a little more even ..
a good carb kit would set you back about $40 and if you figure your time at $50 an hour that's worth about $100, so it's like you got that new carb for free!!! http://www.goldenplasma.f2s.com/foru...es/happy03.gif
1Quickjet, Hallett has the 32 mold[my alltime favorite of all boats] Sanger has/had[?] the 24 mold,Miller has the 20 mold,Southwind had the 18 back in the seventies and eighties, not sure about the 19 foot mold, maybe Hallett has that too.
