Yesterday, May 20th, the State of California and the Hawthorne Parks and Recreation Dept. dedicated a State Historical Monument to to the Beach Boys.
It was built on the site of Brian, Dennis and Carl's boyhood home (now a freeway on-ramp) in Hawthorne Ca. Al Jardine, another founding member, also lived in Hawthorne and attended Hawthorne High School with the Wilson's. Cousin Mike Love lived nearby in Inglewood, Ca and attended Dorsey High.
Brian and Al attended the dedication and played for the crowd of dignataries and well-wishers, as did Carl Wilson, Dennis' Son and many other family members. Mike didn't attend.

Thats cool. I grew up in Hawthorne and went to Hawthorne High. The man who was responsible for getting the memorial up is from Tracy, Ca., where I live now.
