Sorry I said water should go into you timing cover, I ment into the block next to it. It'll go in the same place it would with a water pump, they sell fittings that go in your block in place of the water pump.
I know this is a BBC but its the olny pic I could find right now. You can kinda get an idea where the inlets (at the front of the block) and the outlets (t-stat housing) should be.

Short term... can somebody tell me where on my picture can I see where the inlet water should go? Maybe the top of the water pump housing where the plug is now?
Cap the outlet that my water is entering now?
Long term... where can I get the plates necessary to remove the water pump?

Like said before, you need to ditch the pump. Heres a link for parts to change it over.

Its a very simple swap and you'll probley never get thing right with the water pump on there, better to do it properly now.

Thats a Berkley Pac-A-Jet set up. My dad ran an olds set up just like that for 20 years with no trouble.
You don't have to dump the water pump, you just need to allow the excess water from the water pump someplace to go.
When you changed from the logs to the headers, you dramatically reduced the amount of water being dumped overboard. With the reduced outlet, your water pump is overpressurizing the set up. Thus your blown hoses.
If you T the line going to the headers and run one side of the T to the headers with a gate valve and the other side overboard to dump the excess water you should solve your problem.
To get rid of the water pump, you'll have to get a block off plate and re-plumb the system as shown by some of the other posters.

Water should go in the 2 water pump holes.

and come out of the thermostat housing.
You have too much water pressure, if you set the regulator at garden hose pressure. House water pressure is about 40+, psi . Automotive cooling systems run a lot lower psi than that.

Brian's right, Rick is a good source for info - I've got a guy right near me that'll probably be a little more reasonable in price, Rick's a nice guy, but a little high on the $$$ - Performance Boats of Hartland, his name's Jack Burdak, been doing these boats for a LONG time - give him a call at (810) 632-6469, tell him Len sent you, he'll hook you up - or feel free to drop me a PM, maybe we can have you come by my place one day, take a look at what you've got, then we can go see Jack if need be......I'm just off of I-96 at exit 155...........I think my email's in my profile as well.......
