I have magic 96 that is paid for with a stereo system that is loud but one of the amps left us last season.
A buddy of mine works at sony so he hooked me up with 8 6x9's, 4 6.5's plus two sony amps (have no idea how good) the system is three years old and sounds good enough under way.
All the speakers are in good condition and besides they are bolted to the side panel so they are a pain to remove, got tired of my shit being ripped off at havasu. I have since replaced the white amp in the picture with a really big audio bahn digital amp, all i know is that it looks cool and really is too much power for the 4 JL 12's underneath. The subs can bounce a beer of the deck, it used to be fun but now it is just annoying (getting older)
Anyway what would you recommend to power the 8 6x9's in the cockpit. I would like to use a similiar amp to what i have or at least one amp if possible for the sony's.
Usage scenario, i have a toggle switch that is connected to my pre-amp wire that powers the amps on and off. I have the radio unit powering the 6.5's while the switch is off. That way when i am pulling up to a dock and the rest of the boat is oblivious due to a good day on the lake i can flip the switch the loud music drops, however the 4 6.5's are still playing music but a conversational level.
Oh yeah one of the amps is dead that powers 4 of the 6.9s in the cockpit.
    Thanks in advance

What about having the failed amp repaired?

If you are happy with the system, just get the amp repaired. Here is a link to a repair facility that has fixed prices, so you won't have any hidden charges, and it comes highly reccomended.

I rather go with a newer Digital amp that draws less on the battery so I am told. My luck is once i get the amp fixed the other will go out! Besides they are showin signs of moisture damage.
We take the boat to Shasta , Pacific Ocean and Havasu.

That amp driving your components is a class A/B not a class D. If you switched to a class D it will not drive the speakers in the full frequency range, only subwoofer frequencies. (not good).
Stick with a full range class A/B amp for those components.
P.S. - there really is no such thing as a digital amp.
