Get one of those pwc floats that go over the rope to keep the rope from getting in the pump of sea doo's. They work great.

Go to a local welding supply and get a sleeve that goes over a TIG welding torch hose. It's about 8' long and has a zipper full length.
It's made of a real tuff heat proof material.
That's what I used when I had Basset headers and it worked real good.

thanks for the suggestion. any experience with a python bolted through the transom?
This is what was on mine when I bought it. I don't think you could go much shorter than that. Haven't pulled anyone yet, but looks like the rope would drag across the bottom of the collectors. Figured this might give ya some insight if you decide to explore the "short transom-mount ski pull" route... :rollside: Makes a good place to tie it off though, I do know that!

Hey everyone - Just purchased a 19 ft Tahiti w/455 olds and Bassett headers. Took out to water ski and burned up the rope on the headers. Anyone know where I can get a pylon that maybe mounts on the front of the engine (for easy access) and high enough to not have the rope lay over the headers?
I say put one of them roll bar towers on it. LOL :boxed:
