Her resume looks good and she has been in the radio biz for a while.
Of course she was in the radio biz! There's not much call for 300 pound girls on TV!
So we have a new girl that started to work with sales and promotions. She came to introduce herself, but had an agenda. She heard I was good at installing software. How ****ing hard is it to put in a cd in your disc drive??? It starts the goddamn automatic installation. WTF is wrong with people? We live in a ****ing computer world. Would you walk up to somebody and say hey, I understand you can read. Can you read this for me? Or, you know, I hear you can wipe your own ass, can you help me with mine?
OK, I'm done.
I've had good employees that were very computer challenged / afraid, with a emphasis on the "very". Some people have zero level of exposure to it...like holymoly said "guys often forget the computer is the tool....NOT the reason for being in business, unless you sell computers". I wouldn't write her off just because she can't install a program. Now if you show here how its done a couple times and she still balks well then maybe she has issues. Just my experience.

I guess to give a little more background I took care of our network for years for FREE. Last year I got fed up told the GM I am done and put a memo out that I am not the computer tech. They now outsource the work and I swear that guy asks me questions everytime he is in the building. (Yet he gets paid for it) So when the first words out of her mouth to me was, "I hear you are the one to talk to about installing software" it pissed me off because people know better than to ask me anymore. Hmmm, now that I think of it, maybe they set her up. I wouldn't put it past my co-workers. Maybe I'll just sign her up for some porn sites.

Good point.
