RE the new trailer hitch law.
Does the new law state that you can't have a draw bar in your reciever when not towing, or a ball on your bumper that covers your license plate?

Having the receiver in when not towing has saved my bumper a few times from a$$clowns rearending me. I would hate to think that's illegal to do now.....

Don't know what "new" law you speak of. It's always been illegal to have anything obstruct the view of the rear plate.

Same Here. Had Mine In And A Guy Rearended Me. Nothing Happened To Me. But His Car Had Some Pretty Good Damage To It. After That I Told Myself I Would Never Tale It Off.

Jan 1st in Cali illegal to have drawbar in (I thought) when not towing.
Was told today by my mason that a sheriff told him just no ball in the bumper because it blocks he plate.
I figured it was because some dumb ass politico whacked his shin.
    So which is it?

I think boat cop summed it up...
This was discussed before and there is no law.
5201 V.C. should cover it for you
