My little boy surprised me last night. He's 6. He drew a picture and showed it to me. I thought of course that it was wonderful. Then he wanted scissors. I asked him why. He said he wanted to cut up the picture he drew. I was alarmed and wondered why he'd want to cut it up so then he says (paraphrasing here), "Well Karla is not my friend anymore and I want to make this picture into a puzzle and give it to her because even though she isn't my friend I still love her though." So he did. He cut it all up and put it in an envelope and wanted me to run it over to her right away (she's in the same apartment complex) and I explained that it was too late at night. I suggested he wait until today and give it to her himself and his face lit up with a big smile and he said, "Ohhhh! Okay! I'll just put it under my pillow and give it to her tomorrow!"
I think my little boy is a wonderful person.
Perhaps I shouldn't have been surprised. This is what he was for Halloween- his choice. He loves the idea of fighting with and killing monsters with swords.

So today he gave her the puzzle. Later on she came to the door and gave him a puzzle she made for him. I think they're friends again .

I can't edit my old posts and the image source was broken, so I did the Hooli thing - creative quoting! He's almost 11 now and I was feeling nostalgic, lol. He's gonna be a ninja for Halloween. Hopefully, we'll get pics of him in costume and I can put them up for comparison. For now here's his school pic from last year.
