The only thing a Hallett and a Hawaiian have in common, is they both start with an "H". :hammerhea

Ahhh, thanks for the history. That explains why all boats "evaluated" now by HB mag get two thumbs up. Kind of a joke if you ask me. It would be nice for the mags to be able to write their opinion about the pros and cons of a boat and not have to worry about getting sued.
    Thanks Jas
But also remember who pays the bills for ***boat? Look at all those adsvertisements in the Magazines.... Would you talk smack about the guy who writes you a phat check every month?

You used to be able to find that article on the Hawaiian 28' Jet in the archieves of the members section of Hot Boat. I'd read it again, now and then just for a big laugh. I remember one of the quotes (more or less) was, "If lagging behind all new custom boats, and most PWC's on the lake doesn't bother you, then this is a great boat." It had a few lines like that in it. I'd guess this was written in 1996-1997ish if any of you keep your old Hot Boat's around.

If that thing looks like a "Hallett" to you, then YOU are no surveyor. I am no fan of Hallett, but to compare them leads me to believe that you are not what you say you are. Why not just ask your question with 'the truth' and not show your lack of boat knowledge.
Sorry, did not mean to offend. I was simply talking about the lines of the boat in terms of it being a larger, single jet day-cruiser. Immediately afterwards I say that I doubt they match in quality.
Thank you for responding. I do appreciate the helpful input from the other posters. And; BTW, yes, I am a surveyor and have a tug license as well. Normally deal with large steel commercial, but when I get these types of assignments, I seek help from folks that live there. Most of the time, when I do so, I get input that helps me get on the right track in terms of doing a fair and even handed job in coming to valuations. I do not think that anyone can say that we all know everything there is to know about every type of vessel. Anyone who says they do is kidding themselves or others.

W/O even seeing that boat, I'd say $5,000 is too much!

If you're looking to put a value on the boat, that should be pretty easy. A 28' boat that is almost 30 years old with a jet would be worthless.
