all you might need to do is change the camshaft to one that is better suited for a boat. Then you have to transfer all your marine parts to the truck motor. mounts, water pump cover, etc, starter
I have recently aquired my first jetboat. It is a Rochell 202. It came stock with a ford 460 in it, but it had siezed up. My good buddy had a used 460 in an old truck that had been in a fire and gave me the motor for nothing. I have the motor stripped down and am geting ready to build it back. My trouble is, I am know I need different parts to run well in a boat, but dont know what they might be. ( I think I said that right. ) suggestions please!!??!!

as for the diffrances ther arent any in th blocks or heads the differance would be in th gaskets and what not , the only problem is that there is two diffrent sizes of push rods so be sure that you get the right lenght . as for cams to run i know that www.iskycams.com (http://www.iskycams.com) have cams made for just for jet boats. any how good luck if you need any info feel free to email me and you can check out my page. Just run your clearances a little on the loose side and one step bigger cam than you think you need and you'll be fine. Oh yeah, brass freeze plugs. That's the biggest difference.
Better use the marine pan! It has a baffle. Or you will be seizing that one too!
Thanks for all youre help. I have all the pieces from the original motor so putting it back together shouldn't be a problem. The main reason I asked was a friend of mine who builds Camaro's said I needed to match my cam, intake, carb, fuel pump, etc, or the motor wouldn't work right. Anyway, back to work. Any other info anyone has is still greatly appriecated. I'll try to star getting pics of the project this week as I get ready for paint.
