Just wondering what is the best to use on the transom cover? What is the best method to get this stuff in there to use instead of the O ring?

Just curious, but why don't you want to use the o-ring?

I don't have a problem using the O ring, but heard that it was a pain in the ass. I'll give it a try though. A couple of people recommended just using sealer. I bought 2 tubes of each, latex and silicone, which is better?

Go with a Marine grade Silicone...Ya don't have to empty the tube, just enough to go in about 1/8 to 1/4. Wet your finger with some solvent or soapy water...to smooth over. And give that o-ring to your dog to play with!

I siliconed mine about 3 years ago with no problems.
For a nice job I'd mask it off to get nice clean lines :-)
