Thread: Anyone tow with an Envoy?

Looks like my wife wants the Envoy Denali. Has anyone towed anything with one. I only tow in Havasu from storage to the ramp, but curious how the thing acts. They have the auto air ride suspension in the rear too, so the weight of the tongue shouldn't be an issue. The boat is a 28'/6500lbs on the trailer.
With the GM pricing they are a killer deal + $2500 cash back on top of that.

Chris- Don't even think about it. We just tested one at the mag and it was kind of a dog. I know you only tow to the ramp and back but out of the water might even be scary. I have a friend who just bought one and towing his 20.5 Carrera he said the hills sucked.

Trav, I am looking at the Denali with the 5.3. Not the inline 6. It has 300HP.
    How have you been?

I know. My buddy said pulling the hills with the V-8 still sucked. You have a 28 footer dude. Keep your Escalade or get an HD or something.

This will replace the wifes BMW so it would be an alternate tow vehicle...from storage to the ramp. I am keeping the Escalade. But in case we decided to drive it up to Havasu at least it would get me to the water.

Is there any option to get it in say a 3.73???
That paired with the V8 should make it a passable tow vehicle for your occasional needs.

I wouldn't worry about it. Should do what you want just fine. You are only pulling 3-4 miles max and probably not over 30 MPH either.
You have 36,000 miles to break it.

Chris - It should work. Especially if its 4WD.
I launch my 25 Shockwave (about 5,500 lbs) with my wife's Acura MDX with a 3.5L V6. It pulls the load back out of the water with ease. Never slips the tires. The tranny is a 5 speed auto and 1st gear is really low on it.
Not something I'd tow any distance with but its does fine for the less than 1 mile I have to go to launch.
