Well, I found the missing piece to my dipstick today. I didn't pull the motor completely out of the boat, I just chained it to the cherry picker and lifted it up about a foot. I carefully seperated the pan from the gasket and dropped the pan. On the bottom of the pan towards the flywheel, I found the missing piece. I bolted the pan back up and got the motor mounted and ready to go. On to the next problem now!!
Sweet. You would have stressed until you got it out if you left it.
