hey mike its rich good to meet you at cfw......your boat looked good when i saw it mkae its pass......
Interesting.... I run 6600 at 125 in the 9 sec quarter. My motor is just gettin there when it hits the finish. Its a hydro though.
It seem that when I had my Hydro is was more speed to RPM ratio having a wing on the Canyon really slows it down on the MPH.

In the morning it ran good but by the afternoon when i ran it i lost 1,000 RPM due to not having the injection jetted correctly. That was the first time i have ever had any issues with the fuel system. The weather kept changing so i was not able to ever get it dialed in again.
Hay Mike,
I know your boat wasn't running well Friday evening, but you wouldn't happen to have any photos of us making those runs out of the cove.
Cole Man.
I used to burn the prop at 8800-8900 and go through the traps at 8400rpm with a 523"engine and 22% gears. that would be a 7.60et and 137-140mph. We tried 22,25,29 gears and the boat went the fastest with 22's

Was that fastest or quickest or both? I'm not sure mine would even stay together at 8900rpm.

im sure that motor stayed together because he used the real stinky sticky green assembly stuff. :supp:
Wow thats some serious rpm that sounds like a PGF run good deal. I had just tried some 22,s at Chowtown and the boat left lazy. The funny thing was I still spun the motor at the same 7900 rpm on the big end. I went back to my eighteens and am going to go to a little bigger prop.
When I ran my 502 motor I spun her at no more than 7500 and that motor stayed togeather and looked great when it was time to go through her. Big rpm is nice but harder on parts. I just cant see spinning a motor any higher that you have too, to go how ever fast your trying to or to run the number...
At test and tune at Chow, with my 540, 671 at 1 to 1, I ran an 8:80 and some change at 125, and that was lifting at the last bui. Although I didnt like the way the boat left, the 1/8 was still a 4:80 and some change at 115 mph. I have a good friend who runs a big tunnel ram motor who is dominating our 9 sec class spinning his motor no more than 6800 on the big end.
15% gears 8100 rpm...no clue what speed.
That thing must be a rocket ship and haul donkey off the line with the 15's...
