Bubbledeck 2 your heads are 1973 vintage D3 being the year 73, the V means means it was designated for a lincoln, the E was just a code telling where the part was warehoused. the final set was a parts ident. code,namely in your case cylinder head.combustion chamber volume jumped way up starting in 1972, what you have is aprox. 90-93cc comb.chambers dropping comp ratio to about 8.0 to 1. not exactly a perf item . try and find D2 or D0 for an increase in comp and HP!! D>Kingston {Omega Bitch II}
Thanx for the replies!
I do find all this somewhat curious though as the heads are original on my 1976 boat. Also Harman has a plate on the flywheel cover saying "94 octane minimum" .. isn't that overkill for 8:1 compression?
Old Rigger you got any info on Harman motors?
Bubbledeck,your head is a 1973, 91.4 cc ,8.5:1 c/r,2.08/1.66 valves.Nonadjustable valve version.It is a 429/460 head.

im running the dove heads on my boat and am happy with them engine came out of a station wagon and is a 11-1 429 It replaced the previous 460 and has better results.Try looking at a pick your part or ecology to find the heads you are looking for.
thanx 77charger I will scour the wrecking yards. I'm happy with the way my boat runs now, but with some good heads and a cam it may scoot pretty good :-)
Bubbledeck,if you find a dove head ,put it on your 460 block.You end up with a gas pump friendly 9.3:1 compression,much better than 8.5 .Get the ford motorsport #M6250 A443 cam and than you really going to scoot.
