valve lift .500in .500ex - ad duration 272in 272ex - cam lift .295in 295ex - duration at .050 225in 225ex - lobe center 112. im thinking of putting this in my boat. Sanger custom sprint 454 stock heads, torquer II intake with a holley 750 and basset headers. i assume the cam that is in it is stock as well. would this be a good choice or should i keep the cam that is in there?

That cam, grind # rv72hyd, is not shown as a jet boat cam in Engle's catalog. The description, "Low and midrange torque for street and tow. 8.5:1 to 9.5:1, powerband 1500-5000". I use the HL25Hyd, "Street and strip, prop and jet boats with water injected exhaust, powerband 2200-5700." (541,541....286,286....318,318......238,238....110 *......... The HL25 works real well in my 69 Tahiti, a heavy old jet boat, with just mild compression, and single double pumper, on a edlebrock rpm perf. manifold............MP

You'll be happier with Moneypit's cam.
I'm running Iskendarian ... .565 lift, 280Deg duration, 110Deg lobes. My "stock" 454 cam from Indomar was .480/.472 lift, (rest unknown) in a 330 HP 454. Not much change from .480/.472 to .500. Your manifold may be OK but I prefer (and run) the Edelbrock Performer dual plane because torque is usually better. I am running the RPM Air Gap version.

541" lift = standard rocker arms. 565" lift = long slot rocker arms. If you have roller rockers it's all OK. That Isky "280" cam is great, but you better DEGREE IT IN. The exhaust valve a has very quick rise/drop and it could hit the piston. The "280" Isky on 108 lobe centers does hit the piston. The lobes are almost square and the piston can catch the valve just before it closes.
