Thread: removing gelcoat stains {help}

    need to get stains from fireworks out of gelcoat on my jet boat any ideas? :burningm:

    Have you tried cutting and polishing the erea? Should work, but if not you might have to wet-sand with some 1500 grit then cut/polish. But go lite, you don't want to do more then you need. But this is after you try all the paint-safe cleaners first.

    not to contradict,...i would rather start with 2000,no reason to take too much gel off, it seems to me that the boat companies now days dont like to layup thick gel like yester year!

    anybody know what bleach will do to gelcoats?

    probably wont do anything good for it. Use something made for working on gel, not laundry. Got any pics of the damage?
