Looks like glare from different photo angles and pictures probably taken at different times during the day. It's all patched together.

Surfing the Terra Server website, I find this right smak in the middle of the lake. WTF?
RAPIDS (http://terraserver-usa.com/image.asp...=111&Y=624&W=1)
How narrow are "the narrows" :jawdrop:

Looks like sun glare to me
Well that is an interesting photo. If you've ever been on mead during a windy day you'd know it gets like an ocean with 2 to 4 foot swells (not in the narrows it's the only safe place). I have never seen any rapids on Mead and I hope I never do...
Sun glare, but there are a coulpe of boats going through the narrows.
Funny,
@ the 01 Hallett regatta I was headed into the narrows behind a jumbo v bottom 40 footer and the rollers were about 3-4 foot from all the traffic. When trying to get throttle over one at about 25 mph that would have surely flooded my open bow 240, as I came out of the narrows, I noticed my front right rubrail & hull seam had SPLIT OPEN!!!
That section can be a little rough, but not rapids.
I thought it looked neat, but strange at the same time.
I just chased the river all the way until it just about dries out at the Mexican border.
Pan around and look just HOW SMALL Hoover is in comparison to the lake! :supp:
Last August there was some rapids in Iceberg Canyon
Thats pretty cool site, it sun glare, open the site and zoom in, you'll see more clearly..........
thats again for the site.
Thats sun glare. The only place you find rapids near Lake Mead, is when the water level is right and you go up the Grand Canyon a few miles. Can't do it now, but in a few years it may be possible again. That is a day trip I recommend to everyone - its incredible...
