Hi guys,
Well I think it is time to rebuild my pump very soon. It is a JC with Hyd.Div. coming off of a 455 olds. The reason for the rebuild is that the impeller is dull as sh**. It is all torn up and dented. It's 30 years old. I'm spinning 5400 RPMs at full throttle. I know i should be spinning ~4800. Since I have an olds I can't really take advantage of top speed because I don't spin it up that high very often. This is the question. I know I have already asked this but here it goes again. I need the most cost effective way to rebuild my pump. I saw on Duanes HTP website that I could get a redone impeller and rebuild kit for about $300 dollars. Would you recommend this. I don't need it to be perfect. My boat is NOT perfect. I just need it to run like it's supposed to. I'm not looking for the extra 5MPH! Thank you for all of the advice.
