Maybe because he was the lead boat with the yellow flag and dropped the flag before the rest of the boats were out of the channel cruise? OOOPS! Was that my outside voice?

Unless someone out accelerated him. It's not all about top speed, since some boats take awhile to get wound up with the big props.

If he truely just has the Merc 1075's that he is using for the racing season, that would be very optimistic.
I'm no expert, but 181 MPH on any boat probably requires some killer bullets.
