What's up, I've been reading these boards for about two years now, but have never had anything to say, so I've just been reading everybody elses. What I like best is when guys share there projects with pics. So I figured that's what I would do. My brother and I have been working on his 78 Hondo. Some of you have seen it out at cfw. It's the old Alcohol Abuse boat. After last summer while on a houseboat trip we discovered that the bottom delaminated. It broke from the log shaft to the strut. We removed most of the floor in one peice. unfortunately I can't find those pics. The boat didn't sink, but I think if we were there one more night it could have. We were always planning on painting the boat and redoing the floors anyways. We were hoping it would be ready for cfw this year, but the floor repair took us 7 months to complete. Structurly the floor was strong in December, but the hard part is making the floor look decent. Hopefully these pics come out. At this point all we have completed is the floors. We ended up covering the floors with gel coat that we mixed ourselves. In some of these pics you will notice that the floor is a white gel coat. That was so when we applied the color it didn't look blotchy. The outside is being stripped now, we should have it painted by mid June. We also replaced the bulkhead and filled just about everyone of the 150 holes that were in the stringers.

Thanks everyone. Yes we did do the floors ourselves. The only thing we had help with was drilling the hole in the bottom, Kevin Felkins @ Canyon helped with that. We could have done it ourselves, but we wanted someone with more experience to see it and tell us structurly it was ok. He thought it was a good repair and was very patient with all our questions thanks Kevin. He also found two problems and the cause of the delamination. He notice that the strut was slightly bent and that the bottom had a hook from our repair, it is a small area we will be able to fix it. The reason for the delam was the prop shaft was riding on the hull which caused it to heat up and become weak. We are not going to paint it the colors of A Abuse. The boat was also Bad Moon Risin BFF. We were considering that, but couldn't find any decent pics to go off. Jerry thanks for the pics. you sent us. We just couldn't find any with a detailed look at the boat. We have a good idea of what it will look like now.
