A bypass is THE ONLY regulator in my opinion. Regardless of the type of pump.
I recently bought a Aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. Is there any reason why a bypass regulator should not be used with a mechanical pump. I was under the assumption that the bypass design was better than the deadhead regulator, thats why i bought it. Now, some have told me that a bypass should not be used with a mechanical pump.

Thats what i wanted to hear and your the person i wanted to hear it from. Thanks

Put the bypas after the carbs and as far away from the pump as possible.

Feeding this log with a -10 from the right. A BG bypass regulator and 1/2 return line.

Returning to this BG "Y" . Blue hose is -8 from each tank and braided-10 to the pump. The return is in the top. These "Y" blocks have 1/2 NPT and a 1/8 port in the top. I tap it out to 3/8 NPT for a return. Done it a bunch of times and is my favorite setup.
