Wanted - Daycruiser project boat / complete boat...

I need another project like I need another hole in my head, but here goes:
I've got the "green light" from the Mrs. to look for a family jet boat for next summer (closed engine compartment, decent freeboard). My dream boat would be a 20' Spectra or equivalent.
Will consider almost any condition, but would prefer not to start with a complete basket case.
Midwest location preferred, but willing to take a road trip.
Any help is appreciated.

That's a nice one Futs. A bit too rich for my blood, however. I'm looking more in the sub-$7000 range. Something that's not a complete basket case would be nice.

I just rigged and assembled an 18 gullwing that was basically parts in boxes. I can do this kind of work if necessary. However, I don't want to fall into the trap of buying all new parts.
I'll have "all winter" to do the work. We know how fast those fly by. I guess my ideal situation would be a boat that is essentially all there, but needs restoration. Then I could go through all of the systems, fix what needs to be fixed, and make it look presentable.
I'm willing to consider anything. Do you have anything available?

I am waiting on a deposit for mine, which he said is two weeks away :supp:
Never know what can happen not much of a project boat considering I pretty much went through the whole boat recently, new motor and blower rebuilt.

That's exactly the kind of deal I'm looking for. That 21 Tahiti is especially appealing. If it was 1500 miles closer, I'd be all over it. I just need to keep my eyes open, and look for any help from other forum members who might be able to keep their eyes open as well.
