    Hey everybody,
I've got a fresh BBC that has gone through cam break-in and some minor tuning to get it to run right (total of maybe 50minutes).
I'm now getting close to trying to put some hours on it and am curious whether I should leave all that breakin oil in the pan for now or whether I should drain it and refill with some oil. It's currently got 10 quarts of 10-40w with 16 oz. of GM EOS and the CompCams cam lube that I used on damn near everything.
    What ya think?

Change it now. Get that dirty break in oil out right away. Cheap insurance.

GM EOS is good stuff.but if left in to long it will start to leave deposits in the combustion chambers....Go ahead and change the oil AND filter!

The longest I have ever left break-in oil was fire-up and 2000 rpm for cam for 30 minutes. A quick drive around the block to check everything. Then dump it and filter. All that high quality grease doesn't really break down, so it gets stuck in the filter. Plus, as others mentioned, those lubes aren't designed for high heat of driving/loads. Clean em out.
