Have an 1988 Ford 460, was looking to get a little more out of her without spending a fortune(almost new boat time), the stock carb is a 600 cfm vacum secondary holley, my question is would changing the carb to a 650 double pumper or a 750 vacum secondary, etc.. make a difference, or just suck more gas. The motor is entirely stck, including the factory flame arrestor.

Well the simple answer to your question is...Street driven truck should stay with the vacuum secondary. A 750 is a great choice, and would help you out in the power catagory.
I offer many carburetors for the street driven vessel and could tune a 750 VS with 4150 metering blocks to bump up that power you so desire.
Send me your engine specs, truck specs IE gear ratios, transmission, weight, etc.
    Thanks

My fault, its in a boat, a 21 foot four winns liberator with a king cobra outdrive and a 23 pitch mirage plus. It running right around 4500 rpms, just inside the operating range.

try a k&n air filter / flame arester most flame aresters will not flow much air try one run without flame arester see if you pick up more rpm . also try k&n stubstack like adding 25 to 30 cfm to your carb stack is cheep under $ 40.00
