We were up there a few days last weekend. Check out these pix at mile marker 57 where the Colorado is dumping into mead. I've never seen anything like this before.

I grew up at that exact spot on Lake Mead (Iceburg Canyon). That line used to be much farther upstream. Sounds funny but put your hand in the water and there is a major temp difference from the brown to the blue water

North of Temple Bar and South Cove, mile marker 57 from the dam.
I figured the line was due to temps because the water is so warm at 84* and I am sure the river water is around 65*. I was too afraid to get close enough to touch it. I did not want to suck that much silt into my impeller and I was not sure how deep it was there.

Is mile maker 57 past Sandy Point? I'll be doing some boat camping up that way in a couple of weeks with my sons.

Ya, its about 5 miles or so past Sandy Point. The muddy river was not down this far last year. This is the first time I have seen it.

The Bill Willams does the same thing to the south end of Havasu after a heavy rain. Right up to where it drains down to Parker. Nice pics. Last year you could not get past Big Sandy more then a 1/2 mile or so. The BLM had it closed.
