I just got my cable bill and they offered me a deal for 45 a month for didgital and showtime and TMC in havasu...
As far as cable, i like to know that i can call someone if something breaks and they will fix it, DISH/Satellite not so easy...

But I like the cable modem......

tell your a cable company that you are moving turn in the box. and you get free basic. they are usually to lazy to go disconnect. it might work on the river
Your plan will work. I'm doing something similar myself. I found my second dish at a yard sale for 10 bucks.
dishes are cheap and you can move the box with you.. we use ours in the RV and when we go to the Havasu house. no problem.
who needs cable or satellite when you can watch Old School over and over and over and over and over?
The only problem I've found is that I don't get UPN.

i have an extra box laying around you can have. I may have lost the remote though. i'll look around. that way, you only have to take the card back and forth.
