realistically you are looking at 6-10k, probably on the high side of that.
We are thinking about going through our 21 DiMarco. We already have ideas for a motor but need to do something about the gel. It still has the original gel, complete with metallic flakes. What do you think would be the ball park figure to get a new coat with different colors than it originally had? Nothing busy just 2 colors keeping the original scheme.
Any idea?

Would I have to gut it and take off the cav plates, motor, etc.?

In gel coat maybe $6000.00 to $10,000.00 from a good place. If you wanted to do paint I would call Abstract paint in Reseda on Canby ave. I dont know their number but I have seen their work. GL
Get Imron paint.....looks very good and lasts a long time.
Is Havasu Barney back in action? Anyone?

Stop by and talk to my good friend Mike Love at Custom Paint specialties on Acoma Blvd. Tell him his old neighbor and former Mitchell VP told you to call. He also happens to be a "Service First" shop too. Awesome work and has had stuff on the cover of powerboat.

If you get the boat gel coated, I'd suggest derigging the cav plates (and any other through bolted hardware). Probably fine leaving the strut in it. The motor will also need to come out if and when they flip it to do the bottom. All upholstery should be out, gauges, etc. so yes, you'll need to gut it.

That's what I thought but didn't like the answer I was giving myself. Thanks.
